It was hoped that the new furry mushroom would provide an ideal subsitute for the clowns - I had previously seen these corals at our LFS which were adopted by the clown fish within the display aquarium.
Unfortunately the mushroom hasnt been itself - I had thought that the acclimatisation process was a little short - and so I thought I had shocked it
Today though I realised that an infestation of flukes or flatworms was possibly responsible for the anemone not extending - I have been picking off the flukes with a pair of fine tweezers from my college disection kit
I am hoping that this will allow the coral to extend its polyp/tentacles
So fingers crossed
